Excite for Fable III? I'm judging that the response to that is probably about... fifty/fifty. I loved Fable II, one of my favourite games of 2008, but I do know that many other players suffered problems with gliches or just otherwise didn't think much of it. However, Peter Molyneux is promising that the new game will offer more than just what Fable fans want, and you can hear him discuss it--along with an appearance of John Cleese--in the following video.
In particular, Molyneux describes the game's new interface, which will feature a dynamic 3D map rather than "lists," allowing players to explore the whole world, and also do things such as change their clothes or weapons in a more intuitive fashion.
John Cleese has also been picked up because, as Molyneux says, they noticed that people appreciated the "British" humour of Fable II, so decided to increase on that with Cleese as the player's faithful butler, Jasper. He joins other well known British faces in the voice cast, such as Stephen Fry, Jonathan Ross, and Ben Kingsley.
Unfortunately, there isn't much more detailed information around than that--I guess we'll need to keep our eyes open for the next video when it comes along. However, I do think it seems all rather promising; perhaps we'll find out more at E3.
