As you may have heard from our good friends at Twitter , fellow Tech Blogger Graham Williams and I had the pleasure of attending the first annual Canadian Videogame Awards (CVAs). Saying the event was awesome is an understatement. About a hundred or so gaming developers, enthusiasts and supporters of the industry attended the awards in downtown Vancouver at the Convention Centre.
There were 11 awards up from grabs – check out Graham’s blog posting here to see what they were and to find out more about the CVAs – and one game stood out all evening: Assassin’s Creed 2 by Ubisoft . I was among the thousands of Canadians who rushed out to buy the game when it released and am blown away by the story line, graphics and audio. It’s no surprise why this game brought Ubisoft the following four awards from the 2010 CVAs:
I had a chance to meet some of the developers of the game at last night’s CVAs. Check out what they had to say about bringing home the heavy hardware, what they’re playing at home and what’s upcoming in the Assassin’s Creed series. Enjoy:
Congrats, Ubisoft Canada for creating an amazing game! Can’t wait to get my paws on the third edition in the series when it releases.
If you're interested in seeing who won in each award category, check out my Tweets from last night ( @elliottchun ) or visit the CVAs website .
Also, a special thanks to my friend Julien Lavoie, the Director of Public Relations of the Entertainment Software Association of Canada in Toronto, who graciously invited Future Shop as his VIP guests.
