UFC Undisputed 2010 is set to release on the Xbox 360 and PlayStation on May 25, 2010. Here's part two of what new features you can expect to see in this year's version. In case you missed part one, you can check it out here .
Ultimate Fights Mode - the Classic Fights Mode of UFC 2009 has evolved into a fuller, richer experience which allows players to relive classic fights in UFC history. The mode can be played as a single player experience where you fight an AI in attempt to unlock bonus content associated with each fight. The mode can also be played with two-players, with special presentation and commentary elements. The PS3 version will feature 20 Ultimate Fights, while the Xbox 360 version will only contain 15. Here the additional 5 fights available only for PS3:
Ultimate 2009 Category
UFN 18 – Carlos Condit vs. Martin Kampmann
Ultimate Knockouts Category
UFC 102 – Nate Marquardt vs. Demian Maia
Ultimate Classics Category
UFC 60 – Matt Hughes vs. Royce Gracie
UFC 66 – Keith Jardine vs. Forrest Griffin
Ultimate Submissions Category
UFC 68 – Martin Kampmann vs. Drew McFredries
More robust Career Mode - enhancing last year's mode, a number of features have been added to create a much more immersive and representative experience of what UFC fighters go through. As examples, they've introduced weigh-ins, fighter interviews where you can decide what kind of responses to say about your opponents and your sponsors, and there is a rivalry system that allows you to start feuds with other UFC fighters. Additionally, an intuitive "Game Is Watching You" system will track your every action and use this information to dictate in-game commentary, opponent intelligence and overall career progression. What this means is that you can't use the same game-plan over and over again because your opponents will learn and counter (e.g. if you win five fights with knockout kicks your opponents will start countering and take you down to the mat).
Title and Title Defense Modes - like an arcade ladder mode, Title Mode has you fight through one of UFC's five official weight classes to earn a championship belt. Once you have the title you move to Title Defense Mode, which has you defend your belt over a series of fights, with one loss and you're done. To further add realism, since real UFC fighters have a fight approximately every three months, and often don't have time to recover fully between them, the same applies here -- your fighter's injuries may not fully heal between fights, depending on the severity. So if you cut open your right eye, expect that side of your face to be soft during the next fight. Take a few hard hits to that side of your face and you can quickly re-injure the wound.
Tournament Mode - allows you to set-up and customize 4, 8 or 16-player individual and team tournaments in whatever division you choose. There are two tournament styles: arcade, which allows repeated fighter appearances; and simulation play, where fighter representation is limited to one appearance.
New fighters - 85 fighters appeared in last year's edition, that number has increased to over 100 of the best UFC fighters for 2010. PS3 has scored three exclusive fighters not found in the Xbox 360 version. Here is an exhaustive list of all the new and returning fighters:
