In light of the World Cup finale just completing, I must say as a gamer with very picky taste when it comes to video games, this was a smash hit on so many different levels. My experience and the one you may be looking for with friends and family could very well just start with 2010 FIFA World Cup South Africa for the PS3 and Xbox 360. Read more...

I really didn't want to get drawn into this whole iPhone 4 thing and as most of you know, I've tried hard to stay out of it. But apparently Steve Jobs' comments regarding other devices hit a few sore spots and thus far, both RIM and Nokia have responded with some fairly interesting responses. Read through for their thoughts. Read more...
I wrote up Crackdown 2 a little while ago in a preview , where I said, "I feel like what people (game reviewers, I guess) are going to say when they play the finished product is 'it's good, but it's just more Crackdown.'" Well, I've been playing the finished product solidly for over a week, and do I feel that way?

I had to laugh when I first saw this last week, but to me, it’s an example of a gadget idea that has all the best intentions with all the wrong implementation. In a nutshell, the TV Hat is a baseball hat that’s fully covered by this black cover falling from the brim. On the inside is a sleeve that allows you to put in an iPod, MP3 player or a smartphone that plays video. Put the hat on, and you can watch what you want undisturbed.

Free cases for everyone! Steve Jobs has announced everyone who has purchased an iPhone 4 will get a free bumper in order to correct reception problems that has been in the headlines as of late. Anyone who purchases an iPhone 4 before the end of September will get to pick a case free of charge, others who already purchased a case will get a refund. If that's not enough, Apple will offer a full refund on all non-damaged iPhone 4s within 30 days of purchase.

Over the past couple of days there has been quite a dust-up in the WordPress world over whether or not themes are considered derivative works under WordPress' GPL license. I've written about my own feelings about the situation on my own site—WordPress, Thesis, GPL, and premium themes | TrisHusseyDotCom—but here I want to talk about why GPL is essential to how we use computers today. Oh and not only our computers, but the Internet itself. This is: Why GPL is important. Read more...

The iPad is hailed as a new genre of gadget and the most popular place it’s popping up is on planes and buses. Travelers love the iPad as a light and easy way to take a computer on the road. You can read reports, dive into novels and watch movies on something that’s lighter than a notepad. The iPad is a great commuting gadget, but it’s not a great vacation gadget. Today I am headed to Rio for a run with Team Diabetes. I’ve packed the iPad and my Macbook. Read more...

By now you’ve likely seen the Old Spice Superbowl ad where a buff and attractive specimen of the maleness maneuvers through a highly improbable selection of scenes, while speaking well-written and witty prose promoting himself as ‘the man your man could smell like’.
It’s an awesome spot because it’s fun, seems highly improbable, and is irreverent.

Having spent a week with Sony Ericsson’s Xperia X10, I applaud the company’s overdue foray into the smartphone arms race, though I do wonder if it’s a bit too late in the grand scheme of things. I don’t say that to denigrate the company or the phone, but I merely want to pose the question of whether or not they can not just stick it out, but also really compete with the others.
